Welin Hostels (“Welin”, “we”, “us”) operates the Welin Android application and the website at welin.co.in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you use our services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect account details (name, phone, email, role), profile updates you submit, location data when you use nearby hostel search (with your permission), hostel and stay-related data (join requests, occupancy, rent records), payment-related metadata via payment providers, device and app information (including push notification tokens), and support messages you send to us.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, show nearby and listed hostels, process join requests and rent workflows, send service alerts (including push and WhatsApp reminders where enabled), improve reliability and security, provide customer support, and meet legal obligations.
4. Location
Location is used only for features you choose, such as finding hostels near you. You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings; some nearby features may then be limited.
5. Sharing
We share information with hostel owners and students as needed to operate stays and requests, with service providers (hosting, payments, messaging) under appropriate safeguards, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed for operations, disputes, and legal requirements. You may request account deletion by emailing support@welin.co.in.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including access controls and hashed passwords when you set one. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure.
8. Your choices
You can update profile details in the App, set or change a password, manage device permissions, and contact us to correct information or request deletion where applicable.
9. Children
Welin is intended for users who can form a binding contract under applicable law. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact support@welin.co.in.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
